Rosie S. Bickert - A New Way To Help People in Emotional Pain |
Rosie Spagnuolo Bickert is passionate in her endeavor to help people in pain and is currently using her Puerto Rican Paso Fino horses to facilitate healing in a new way. Ms. Bickert graduated from the University of Michigan with her MSW in 1994. She pursued additional training and expertise in treating posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, mind/body medicine, and couples and family psychotherapy. She began using her horses in 2006 with individuals, families and groups.

Ms. Bickert completed an Equine Gestalt Coaching Method certification program with Melissa Pearce in August 2012. She is the 12th graduate of this program. This innovative approach brings renewed passion and excitement to her work.
Most recently, Rosie has completed a one-year certification program for Combat Veterans at Michigan State University. This program is one of it's kind in the nation and Rosie is one of the eight students in the first cohort to complete this program.
Ms. Bickert has built an outstanding reputation for her creativity and willingness to explore non-traditional modalities to assist clients in transforming negative behaviors, perceptions, and negative self-images into more productive and positive ways to approach life.
Post graduate certifications achieved by Ms. Bickert include certification in the practice of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Institute, Mind/Body/Medicine Stress Management through The Center of Mind Body Medicine with Dr. James Gordon, guided imagery and hypnotherapy, sand tray, experiential techniques, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAGALA), and Equine Gestalt Coaching Certification through Touched by a Horse. Combat Veterans Certification Program for the School of Social Work at Michigan State University.
Ms. Bickert's professional career continues to evolve. She has created a "Warrior Village" on her property to house veterans for weekend programs. Her first begins in Summer 2019, "A Warriors Journey" incorporates the healing power of horses, meditation, experiential learning and Native American rituals/ceremonies to enhance the healing process for this well deserving population.
